Kia has been awarded a Special Mention in the Communication category at the Fuorisalone Awards 2025 for its innovative exhibition, Opposites United: Eclipse of Perceptions, held during Milan Design Week from April 7 to 13.
This recognition underscores Kia’s impactful approach to design philosophy storytelling and its ability to engage audiences globally through immersive, conceptual content.
Overview of Opposites United: Eclipse of Perceptions
Kia’s exhibition was praised for its immersive, multi-sensory experience, bringing the brand’s ‘Opposites United’ design philosophy to life. Attracting more than 20,000 visitors during its seven-day run, it showcased how contrasts such as light and dark, form and void, and tradition and innovation drive creativity and fuel innovative design.
The ‘Eclipse of Perceptions’ exhibition explored the power of duality in design, with each installation offering a unique experience, reflecting Kia’s vision of dynamic, opposing forces. The four main installations were:
- Marquee by Philippe Parreno
- The Cave by A.A. Murakami
- Beyond the Horizon by A.A. Murakami
- The Eclipse by Kia Design
What are the Fuorisalone Awards?
The Fuorisalone Awards are a prestigious acknowledgement of the most memorable exhibitions at Milan Design Week. Projects are shortlisted based on public votes and evaluated by a panel of industry experts.
Special Mentions are awarded in three categories: Sustainability, Technology, and Communication. Kia's exhibition received a Special Mention in the Communication category for its clear, inclusive design communication that engaged diverse audiences through storytelling and participatory experiences.
